Empowering bilingual families to make the best family-centered education decisions
Alvarez Consulting & Advocacy specializes in:
IEP/ Special Education services for families in Spanish and English
Services
Children with disabilities, academic difficulties, or behavioral issues do not have the same access to the resources as their counterparts. This includes legal representation, familiarity of services at schools, or their rights as parents. There are many barriers to resources, income or environment. Providing the tools and resources to families with children suspected of needing additional educational support is beneficial. Families and students have power and a voice.

Client Testimonials
"The workshops provided to families were warm, welcoming, informative, and empowering to parents who want to learn how to support their children in school. We were fortunate to have the connection to Alvarez Consulting and the information shared with parents motivated them to take initiative and contact the schools on behalf of their children. It was a pleasure working with Yazmin, she connects warmly to parents in a supportive nurturing way."

"My husband, and I discovered that our daughter needed a special education evaluation, and not being educators ourselves we didn't know where to begin. Yazmin took the time to help us fully understand the process. She guided us through every step, from writing a request letter, to receiving our daughter's assessments, to sitting in on our daughter's evaluation meeting. She checked in throughout the progress of our case, and prepared us for what to expect during the process. She made a very intimidating experience much easier to understand, and go through. Thank you Yazmin!"

Write Everything You Need In One Place
The Special Education process can be overwhelming, especially for parents and guardians who are new to the system. There is a lot of information to take in, and it can be difficult to keep track of everything. Our journal is designed to help families stay organized and informed throughout the entire IEP process.
